David W. Altchek, MD, is Chief of Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, where he is also Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Dr. Altchek serves as Medical Director for the New York Mets and was formerly the Team Physician for the US Davis Cup tennis team. His research and clinical interests focus on arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, as well as injury of the elbow and knee.
